calcite.  Common crystalline form of calcium carbonate.  A group of Denobulans on Xantoras studied various formations of calcite, aragonite, and botryoidal flowstone.  ("The Breach" [ENT]).

Calla.  (Larissa Laskin).  Wife of the Vissian engineer, and the one in charge of the microgravity lab on her ship.  Calla and her husband were trying to have a baby, but when their cogenitor
 was tempted with freedom by Commander Tucker, the cogenitor no longer wished to comply and committed suicide. ("Cogenitor" [ENT]).


Calrissian chameleon
.  Animal in Dr. Phlox's sickbay.  The chameleon secretes a rare toxin useful in treating respiratory infections.  Phlox used the pituitary gland of the chameleon as a replacement for Porthos'.
  ("A Night in Sickbay" [ENT]).

camomile tea
.  Drink made from camomile leaves and flowers. 
T'Pol occasionally drank camomile tea.  ("Fusion" [ENT]).

CanamarEnolian penal colony.  Captain Archer and Commander Tucker were accused of smuggling in the Keto-Enol system, and were sent on a prison transport to Canamar.  They were about to be released when the ship was taken over by Kuroda Lor-ehn.

"Canamar."  Enterprise episode # 43.  Written by John Shiban.  Directed by Allan Kroeker.  No date given.  Archer and Trip are mistaken for smugglers and sent on a prison ship to a penal colony.  Before being released, the ship is hijacked by one of the prisoners who breaks loose. Canton, Ohio.  City on Earth that had the largest ball of string at over six meters in diameter.  ("The Andorian Incident" [ENT]).

Carbon Creek
.  Small mining town in Pennsylvania on Earth.  A Vulcan ship crashed approximately six kilometers away from Carbon Creek in 1957 after observing the launch of Sputnik.  The ship had an impulse manifold malfunction after three weeks of studying Earth.  In the crash, the Captain died, but three of the crew survived.  They went to Carbon Creek after they ran out of rations, and resided there until their distress call was answered.  Mestral, one of the Vulcans, stayed in Carbon Creek to study the humans.  ("Carbon Creek" [ENT]).

"Carbon Creek."  Enterprise episode # 28.  Teleplay by Chris Black.  Story by Rick Berman & Brannon Braga.  Directed by James A. Contner.  No date given.  T'Pol tells Tucker and Archer a story about her great-grandmother, T'Mir, crash landing on Earth before official first contact had been made between humans and Vulcans. Caroline.  Ex-girlfriend of Captain Archer who moved to New Berlin.  It deeply disappointed Archer.

Carlos.  (Ricky Luna).  Student of Hoshi Sato in Brazil.  ("Broken Bow" [ENT]).

Carlsbad Caverns T'Pol visited the caverns during her leave while working at the Vulcan consulate in California.  ("Carbon Creek" [ENT]).

Casey, General.  High-ranking officer in Earth's military who sent his best soldiers aboard Enterprise in their mission into the Delphic Expanse
("The Expanse" [ENT]).

Cassidy, Hopalong.  Famous western character from early 20th century movies.  Trip imagined he was alongside Cassidy when his consciousness was taken by the wisps.
  ("The Crossing" [ENT]).

Catelin
.  Woman whom Malcolm Reed
had dated briefly.  ("Shuttlepod One" [ENT]).

catfish.  Type of Earth fish that was Commander Tucker's favorite food.  ("Unexpected" [ENT]).  Tucker ordered catfish from a matter replicator onboard an unknown station where Enterprise was repaired after being damaged by a Romulan mine("Dead Stop" [ENT]).

catwalk.  Maintenance shaft running the length of each nacelle on a starship.  The S.S. Enterprise's catwalk was lined with an osmium alloy.  Temperatures would reach 300 degrees in the catwalk if the engines were online.  The crew took shelter in the catwalk when trying to survive an oncoming neutronic wavefront
("The Catwalk" [ENT]).  The crew took shelter once again in the catwalk when they determined that the wisps could not penatrate it.  ("The Crossing" [ENT]).

"Catwalk, The."  Enterprise episode # 38.  Written by Mike Sussman and Phyllis Strong.  Directed by Mike Vejar.  September 18, 2152.  The crew and a few aliens take shelter in the ship's nacelle when a dangerous storm approaches at high-warp.  More aliens board the ship in search for the fugitive aliens and try to take over the ship. Chatkin Point.  Place in Florida where Charles Tucker used to drive along the shoreline and look at the moon with his girlfriend.  ("Precious Cargo" [ENT]).

Chef.  Preparer of food aboard a starship.  Captain Archer had to pull in a few favors to get his chef who was reported to be the best in Starfleet.  ("Fortunate Son" [ENT]).  Chef became ill upon Enterprise's approach to a class-4 black hole.  ("Singularity" [ENT]).

chicken marsala.  Chicken cooked with veal marsala.  Tavin asked Captain Archer for the recipe for chicken marsala.  ("Fusion" [ENT]).  Chicken marsala was made on Enterprise after Tucker was rescued from a moon orbiting a gas giant.  ("Dawn" [ENT]).

chicken tetrazzini.  Chicken prepared with mushrooms in a cream sauce served over pasta and topped with cheese.  Chicken tetrazzini was one of the dishes served aboard the S.S. Enterprise. ("Unexpected" [ENT]).

Chinese food.  Variety of food that comes from China, Earth.  Dr. Phlox enjoyed Chinese food very much, especially egg drop soup.  ("Broken Bow" [ENT]).

"Civilization."  Enterprise episode # 9.  Written by Phyllis Strong and Michael Sussman.  Directed by Mike Vejar.  July 31st, 2151.  Captain Archer and the crew discover an inhabited, civilized, pre-industrial Earth-like planet. Disguised to look like its inhabitants, they pay the planet an exploratory visit where they learn that an illness is afflicting the local population. As Archer seeks to help them find a cure, he finds himself in a close encounter with a comely female alien. class-3 neutronic wavefront
.  Class of neutronic wavefront encountered by Travis Mayweather on the S.S. Horizon.  The crew had to take shelter in the ship's core for six weeks.  The generators went down and they lost grav plating and life support.  ("The Catwalk" [ENT]).

class-4 black hole
.  Type of black hole.  The S.S. Enterprise encountered a class-4 black hole as a part of a trinary system.  Radiation from the singularity effected the minds of the crew making them more obsessive before rendering them unconscious.  ("Singularity" [ENT]).

class-5 neutronic wavefront.  Class of neutronic wavefront encountered by the T'Plana, a Vulcan starship, over a century prior to the S.S. Enterprise's encounter with a similar storm.  The T'Plana was lost with all hands.  The S.S. Enterprise encountered a class-5 neutronic wavefront in 2152.  The crew took shelter in the catwalk for eight days.  A few members of the Takret militia tried to take over the ship, but were repelled.  ("The Catwalk" [ENT]).

class-7 gas giant.  Type of gas giant.  The Suliban Helix was located in a class-7 gas giant.  ("Broken Bow" [ENT]).

class-9 gas giant.  Type of gas giant.  There were none in Earth's solar system.  The Klingon scout Somraw headed into the atmosphere of a class-9 gas giant to make repairs, but became ill and the ship descended deep.  The Klingon term for this gas giant was Q'tahl-class.  ("Broken Bow" [ENT]).

class-D planet.  Barren planet classification.  Weytahn was class-D before being terraformed by the Andorians.

class-L planet.  Barren planet classification
Skalaar and Captain Archer crash landed on a class-L planet.  ("Bounty" [ENT]).

Clement, H.M.S.  Royal naval submarine that Malcolm Reed's great uncle served aboard.  He was the chief engineer of the submarine, despite his aquaphobia.  The Clement hit a mine left over from some world war, and Reed's great uncle sacrificed himself to save the others aboard.
  ("Minefield" [ENT]).

cloaking device.  Type of stealth technology that renders an object invisible through the application of radiation to change the phase of the object.  Suliban ships used cloaks.
  ("Broken Bow " [ENT]).  Xyrillian ships also used them.  ("Unexpected" [ENT]).  Romulan mines were equipped with a version of a cloak more easily detected than those on their ships.  ("Minefield" [ENT]).  While trying to operate the cloak on a captured Suliban cell ship, the device malfunctioned and accidentally phased out part of Commander Tucker's arm.  ("The Communicator" [ENT]).

Cochrane, Zefram.  (James Cromwell).  Discoveror of the space warp.  Cochrane gave a speech at the founding of the Warp five complex which was played back at the launch of the S.S. Enterprise 32 years later.  ("Broken Bow" [ENT]).  Cochrane was the first human to make official contact with the Vulcans, but Vulcans had been on Earth as early as 1957.  ("Carbon Creek" [ENT]).  When Jonathan Archer was eight he met Cochrane at the Warp Five Complex.  ("Singularity" [ENT]).  Cochrane mysteriously left Earth, and some rumors had it that he was testing an experimental warp ship.  ("Future Tense" [ENT]).  Cochrane designed the E.C.S. Horizon himself.  It was rumored that he signed the inside of each reactor casing.  ("Horizon" [ENT]).  Cochrane made a speech in 2064 at Princeton University about what really happened during first contact with the Vulcans, which involved the Borg.  He later recanted the story due to its nature.  ("Regeneration" [ENT]).  James Cromwell previously portrayed Nayrok in "The Hunted" (TNG) and Jaglom Shrek in "Birthright, Parts I and II" (TNG).

coffee.  Beverage made from dried, roasted, and ground beans of various shrubs and trees. Captain Archer offered D'Marr ten kilos of coffee in exchange for the location of some needed engineering materials.  ("Oasis" [ENT]).

"Cogenitor."  Enterprise episode # 48.  Written by Rick Berman & Brannon Braga.  Directed by Levar Burton.  No date given.  A race is encountered that has three species, and Trip decides to interfere with the rights of the third gender. cogenitor.  (Becky Wahlstrom).  Third gender of the Vissian species that made up approximately three percent of the population.  Commander Tucker met a cogenitor aboard the Vissian ship, and was concerned that it wasn't receiving fair treatment.  He secretly taught the cogenitor to read and exposed it to movies and other elements of human culture.  The cogenitor even wished to be called Charles just like Tucker.  After it was found out that the cogenitor had been taught these things and even brought over to Enterprise, the Vissians demanded that they return it.  The cogenitor did not want to go, but Captain Archer eventually returned it in favor of diplomatic relations.  It was later found that the cogenitor committed suicide when it could not handle experiencing freedom and being forced to being submissive again.  ("Cogenitor" [ENT]).

"Cold Front."  Enterprise episode # 11.  Written by Steve Beck and Tim Finch.  Directed by Robert Duncan McNeill.  No date given.  When the Enterprise comes in contact with an alien vessel transporting stargazers to observe a spectacular stellar event, Archer invites them aboard the ship not realizing that Silik, a Suliban enemy, is among them. Archer quickly realizes that Silik is engaged in a nefarious time-travelling mission and must stop him before he can tamper with the course of history. Cole, Ensign.  Officer aboard the S.S. Enterprise whose consciousness was transplanted by the wisps.  Cole was one of at least 24 taken by them.  ("The Crossing" [ENT]).

"Communicator, The." 
Enterprise episode # 34.  Teleplay by Andre Bormanis.  Story by Rick Berman & Brannon Braga.  Directed by James A. Contner.  No date given. 
After leaving his communicator on the planet of a pre-warp culture, Reed goes back with Archer to try and recover it.  In their attempt they are captured and the crew of Enterprise devises a plan to rescue them. Conestoga, S.S. 
Earth colony ship launched circa 2067.  It's colonizing effort, known as "The Great Experiment", was aimed at a planet dubbed
Terra Nova.  The Conestoga was under the command of Captain Mitchell.  The ship's bulkheads were disassembled to form buildings for the colony.  ("Terra Nova" [ENT]).

Constellation, E.C.S.  Earth cargo freighter.  The ship was attacked by an alien pirate ship, and three crewmembers died.  They sent schematics of the ship to all other cargo ships in the fleet, including the E.C.S. Horizon.  The Horizon was attacked by them eight weeks later.
  ("Horizon" [ENT]).

Cook, Ensign.  (Steven Allerick).  Engineer aboard the S.S. Enterprise.  ("The Crossing" [ENT]).

Coridan.  Dilithium-rich planet with a population of approximately three billion.  The Vulcans had a mining agreement with the government of Coridan.  However, there were several terrorist factions in 2151 who did not support the way the government handled things.  They lived on the outskirts of town which had just as much population as the inside, but was much lower class.  It was a violation of the Tau Ceti Accords for Andorians to be on Coridan.  ("Shadows of P'Jem" [ENT]).

cormaline.  Mineral that was found in the caves along with limestone on the unknown minshara-class planet.  ("Strange New World" [ENT]).

Cosmos A to Z, The.  Astronomy textbook written by Laura Danly.  Captain Archer was given this book on his eighth birthday by his father.  He always stared at the cover picture of the Arachnid Nebula.  ("Fusion" [ENT]).

Crater, Judge.  New York Supreme Court justice who vanished without a trace in 1930.  His disappearance was widely famous and never explained.  ("Terra Nova" [ENT]).

"Crossing, The."  Enterprise episode # 44.  Teleplay by Rick Berman & Brannon Braga.  Story by Rick Berman & Brannon Braga & Andre Bormanis.  Directed by David Livingston.  No date given.  Enterprise is taken captive in an alien ship's docking bay.  The ship is full of wispy life forms who can exchange their consciousness with the crew, and they try to take over the ship. GUEST CAST:  Steven Allerick as Cook, Ensign; Alexander Chance as Crewman #1; Valerie Ianniello as Female Crewman; Matthew Kaminsky as Cunningham, Crewman; Joseph Will as Rostov, Crewman Michael. Cuba
.  An island country south of Florida in the Carribbean Sea.  Cuba was in the area attacked by the Xindi probe.

Cunningham, Crewman.  (Matthew Kaminsky).  Crewman aboard the S.S. Enterprise who worked in the mess hall.  ("Singularity" [ENT]), ("Regeneration" [ENT]).

Cutler, Elizabeth.  (Kellie Waymire).  Crewman aboard the S.S. Enterprise who specialized in entomology and exobiology.  Cutler was part of the away team that explored the unknown minshara-class planet.  ("Strange New World" [ENT]).  She later became romantically interested in Dr. Phlox, but the relationship was left at more of a friendship than anything else.  ("Dear Doctor" [ENT]).  When Phlox underwent his yearly hibernation in 2152, Cutler was in charge of any minor cases that came into sickbay.  Kelly Waymire previously played Lanya in "Muse" (VGR).

cyclohexane.  An extremely flammable, colorless, mobile liquid found in a class-7 gas giant.  ("Broken Bow" [ENT]).

Cygniai Expanse.  Land Region where Zobral and his men were from.  Enterprise launched a shuttle down to there so that Archer and Tucker could play a geskana match.  ("Desert Crossing" [ENT]).

Cyrus.  Grandfather of Charles Tucker.
  ("First Flight" [ENT]).

cytokinetic enzyme.  Enzyme used to stimulate cell division.  Phlox used a cytokinetic enzyme to help heal Lt. Reed's punctured leg.
  ("Dead Stop" [ENT]).

cytolytic injections.  Injections that Phlox administered to Nadet as a follow-up to the cure for her lung cancer.  ("Terra Nova" [ENT]).
