E'lis.  (Bari Hochwald).  Doctor at a deterium processing colony.  She obtained some medical supplies from Enterprise as part of an exchange for deuterium.  ("Marauders" [ENT]).  Bari Hochwald previously portrayed Dr. Elizabeth Lense in "Explorers" (DS9), and Brin in "Friendship One" (VGR).

Earhart, Amelia
.  Noted aviator, the fisrt woman to fly alone across Earth's Atlantic Ocean.  Earhart disappeared without a trace in 1937.  Her disappearance was a well-known mystery in the 20th century.  ("Terra Nova" [ENT]).

Earth.  Third planet in the Sol system and the homeworld of humans.  Earth is the location of Starfleet.  Earth made first contact with the Vulcans in 2063, leading them to a new perspective which eliminated poverty, war, and disease over the next 50 years.  ("Broken Bow" [ENT]).  In 2153, Earth was attacked by a Xindi probe.  The ship fired a beam starting in Florida, running through Cuba, and ending in Venezuela.  7 million people were killed in the attack.  ("The Expanse" [ENT]).

Earth Cargo Authority.  Organization from Earth that maintained the cargo fleet.
  ("Future Tense" [ENT]).

East Africa.  Jonathan Archer visited East Africa in his 20's and watched a gazelle being born.  ("Shockwave, Part II" [ENT]).

Echo One
.  Subspace amplifier, along with Echo Two, planted in space by the
S.S. Enterprise.  They were destroyed by an unknown alien race.  A third amplifier was dropped afterwards.   SEE: Echo Three ("Silent Enemy" [ENT]).

Echo Three.  Subspace amplifier dropped by the S.S. EnterpriseCommander Tucker and Lieutennant Reed set a course for Echo Three after they believed the Enterprise destroyed, despite the fact that the shuttlepod they were in could not reach there before it ran out of air.  ("Shuttlepod One" [ENT]).  A downlink was set with Starfleet in 2153 when Enterprise viewed a planet whose orbit shifted between two gas giants.  ("Horizon" [ENT]).

E.C.S.  Acronym for Earth Cargo Ship used as a prefix on all cargo vessels from Earth.  ("Fortunate Son" [ENT]).

Eddie.  Engineer aboard the S.S. Enterprise who helped in the construction of the phase cannons onboard.  ("Silent Enemy" [ENT]).

Edosian slugs.  Mollusks that Dr. Phlox used for medical purposes.
  ("The Catwalk" [ENT]).  Edosian slugs were partial to boiled rootleaf.  ("Regeneration" [ENT]).

egg drop soup.  Type of Chinese food that is made with eggs and broth.  The soup was to Dr. Phlox's liking.  ("Broken Bow" [ENT]).

eggs benedict.  A toasted English muffin with ham, a poached egg, and hollandaise sauce on top.  Chef prepared eggs benedict for Archer and Reed.
  ("Minefield" [ENT]).

eggs, scrambled.  Eggs with the whites and yolks beaten together and cooked to a firm, but soft consistency.  Captain Archer liked his scrambled eggs soft.  ("Cold Front" [ENT]).

eight-ball.  Billiards game that involved hitting in either solid or striped balls, and then the eight-ball.  Mestral played eight-ball against Billy, betting a drink with T'Mir versus some money.  Mestral won. 
  ("Carbon Creek" [ENT]).

eisilium.  Extremely rare mineral which disrupts magnetic fields.  Vulcan scientists had only studied small amounts of it.  In 2151, the S.S. Enterprise discovered a comet with rich deposits of eisilium.  ("Breaking the Ice" [ENT]).

EM-33.  Model of EM sidearm that was very similar to a phase pistol.  ("Fight or Flight" [ENT]).  When firing an EM-33, you had to adjust for particle drift; that was not true of the phase pistols.  ("Sleeping Dogs" [ENT]).

EM barrier.  Technical name for a forcefield.  Starfleet had gotten really close to developing one, but couldn't keep the particle density stable.  Lieutenant Reed was able to make one stable enough to repel the lifeform which infiltrated the Enterprise and resided in cargo bay two.  ("Vox Sola" [ENT]).

 

EM sidearms.  Type of gun that Hoshi Sato was cleared for.  An EM-33 was a type of EM-sidearm.  ("Fight or Flight" [ENT]).

enchiladas.  A tortilla rolled and mixed with a mixture of meat and cheese.  Hoshi Sato said she could make a really good enchilada.  ("Silent Enemy" [ENT]).

Enolian official.  (Holmes Osborne).  Official of the Enolian government who tried to assist the S.S. Enterprise in retrieving Captain Archer and Commander Tucker after they were sent to a penal colony.
  ("Canamar" [ENT]).

Enolians.  Spacefaring humanoid civilization from the planet Keto-Enol.  Enolians were characterized by a wrinkled ridge around pronounced cheekbones.  Their justice system wasn't very accurate, and as a result, some were taken prisoner who were not guilty.
  ("Canamar" [ENT]).

Enterprise, S.S. Earth starship, NX-class, Starfleet Registry number NX-01.  First Earth ship capable of warp five.  The Enterprise was launched in 2151 under the command of Captain Jonathan Archer.  ("Broken Bow" [ENT]).  The crew compliment aboard was 82.  ("Strange New World" [ENT]).  The Enterprise later became a front for the temporal cold war.  It was originally supposed to explode due to an antimatter cascade, but it was prevented by Silik.  ("Cold Front" [ENT]).  The Enterprise was originally fitted with phase cannon ports, but they were never installed because of the ship's premature departure.  The engineering crew worked extra shifts in order to get them online to defend against unknown alien attacks.  ("Silent Enemy" [ENT]).  The ship was retrofitted after Earth was attacked by the Xindi probe.  It was upgraded with photonic torpedos and enhanced hull plating.  ("The Expanse" [ENT]).

environmental suits.  Protective garments worn by Starfleet personnel when exploring inhospitable environments.  Hoshi Sato claimed the suits made her claustrophobic.  ("Fight or Flight" [ENT]).

Esaak.  (David A. Kimball).  Doctor on Valakis who Phlox conferred with to find a cure for the species' genetic mutation.  ("Dear Doctor" [ENT]).

escape pods.  Small lifeboat that could be ejected from a starship or other space vehicle after a catastrophic accident.  Klingon ships of the 22nd century did not have escape pods because dying at their posts was more honorable than escaping.  ("Sleeping Dogs" [ENT]).  Charles Tucker and Kaitaama used an escape pod to get away from the Retellian cargo vessel.  They landed it on a nearby planet.  ("Precious Cargo" [ENT]).  A.G. Robinson was the first human to cross the warp threshold in an escape pod after the NX-Alpha was destroyed.  ("First Flight" [ENT]).

Eska.  Race that came to hunt on the rogue planet Dakala for four days out of every year for nine generations.  ("Rogue Planet" [ENT]).

Everglades.  Area in Florida that was hotter than the planet that Tucker and Kaitaama landed on in an escape pod.
  ("Precious Cargo" [ENT]).

"Expanse, The." Enterprise episode # 52. Written by Rick Berman and Brannon Braga.  Directed by Allan Kroeker.  April 24th, 2153.  The Enterprise heads home after Earth is attacked by an unknown species called the Xindi.  The humanoid figure commanding the Suliban from the future warns Archer that the attack is a prelude to one that will wipe out humanity. Ezral.  (Rene Auberjonois).  Father of Liana, and chief engineer aboard the Kantare ship.  When the ship hit an ion storm, he panicked, and went to save his daughter from the impending doom.  The two were the only ones to survive when the ship crash landed.  After trying to fix the ship, Ezral felt bad for Liana, and recreated holograms of the crewmembers including his wife, Maya.  Eventually, he just stayed there.  But after being influenced by the crew of the Enterprise, he decided to finish the repairs and go home.  ("Oasis" [ENT]).  Rene Auberjonois previously played Colonel West in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, and most notably Odo on DS9.
