Nadet.  (Mary Carver).  Nickname for Bernadette Fuller.  She was a Novan who survived the asteroid impact on Terra Nova.  She had contracted lung cancer in her later years, but was cured aboard the S.S. Enterprise.  ("Terra Nova" [ENT]).

Nadine.  Girl who was born on the E.C.S. Fortunate.  ("Fortunate Son" [ENT]).

Naiman, Crewman.  Crewman aboard the S.S. Enterprise who was said to be pretty small.  ("Shockwave, Part II" [ENT]).

Phlox observed as eating large quantities of food.  ("Fight or Flight" [ENT]).

nanotechnology.  Technology that uses circuitry the size of atoms or molecules.  The Borg used nanotechnology in the assimilation process.  Denobulans had studied nanotechnology.
  ("Regeneration" [ENT]).

Narra.  (Jessica D. Stone).  Suliban, daughter of Danik who was also a prisoner at Detention Complex 26.  On Tandar Prime other children taunted her with racist nursery rhymes about the Suliban.  ("Detained" [ENT]).

nasal numbing agent.  Chemical that T'Pol used to numb the smell of humans.  ("The Andorian Incident" [ENT]).

Natalie.  Woman from Pensacola who Charles Tucker was involved with on Earth.  Their relationship didn't work out because of the distance.  ("Silent Enemy" [ENT]).

Nausicaa.  Homeworld to the Nausicaans.  ("Fortunate Son" [ENT]).

Nausicaan captain.  (Danny Goldring).  Captain of one of the Nausicaan raiders that fired upon the E.C.S. Fortunate.  ("Fortunate Son" [ENT]).  Goldring previously portrayed Legate Kell in "Civil Defense" (DS9), Burke in "Nor the Battle to the Strong" (DS9), and the Alpha Hirogen/Nazi Commandant in "The Killing Game" parts I and II (VGR).

Nausicaan cargo depot.  Asteroid base where Nausicaan pirates unloaded their stolen cargo.  The E.C.S. Fortunate stumbled upon the depot while in search of the Nausicaan raider that attacked them.  ("Fortunate Son" [ENT]).

Nausicaan prisoner.  (D. Elliot Woods).  One of the Nausicaan pirates who was held hostage aboard the E.C.S. Fortunate.  He was beaten to try and get him to release the shield frequencies of his ship.  ("Fortunate Son" [ENT]).  Woods previously portrayed a Klingon officer in "Sons of Mogh" (DS9), and a Starfleet officer in Star Trek: Insurrection.

Nausicaan raider.  Type of small, maneuverable starship that was used for raiding cargo vessels.  Three such vessels were stationed at the Nausicaan cargo depot and fought the E.C.S. Fortunate until the S.S. Enterprise came in to mediate.  ("Fortunate Son" [ENT]).

Nausicaans.  Tall, humanoid race with dark hair and yellowish-green skin and fangs.  Nausicaans were known to be pirates that raided Earth cargo vessels.  ("Fortunate Son" [ENT]).  Phlox likened the odor of Ensign Socorro's sweat to the adrenal gland of a Nausicaan.  ("Fight or Flight" [ENT]).  A Nausicaan helped take over an Enolian prison ship with Kuroda Lor-ehn.  ("Canamar" [ENT]).  Named for the Greek princess of the wind, as well as for the animated fantasy film Nausicaa.

NavorkotVulcan self defense technique.  T'Pol taught the technique to laborers from a deuterium processing colony so that they could defend from Korok and his crew.
  ("Marauders" [ENT]).

Neethian cradlefish.  Lifeform similar to an earthworm or the being that infiltrated Enterprise and assimilated crewmembers into its own consciousness.  The property they all had in common was that even if a limb was severed from the main body, it could still function.  ("Vox Sola" [ENT]).

Neptune.  Eighth planet in the Sol system.  A trip to Neptune in back from Earth aboard the Enterprise would take six minutes.  ("Broken Bow" [ENT]).

Neptune-class.  Class of Starfleet survey ship.  The captain's chair on the S.S. Enterprise was the same as the chair on a Neptune-class vessel.
  ("Singularity" [ENT]).

neutrino emissions.  Emission given off of an antimatter reactor of massless subatomic particles that have no electrical charge.  ("Civilization" [ENT]).

neutron microscope.  Device that collimates neutrons.   A neutron microscope was picked up by the S.S. Enterprise at Dekendi IIIFeezal Phlox instructed Commander Tucker on how to operate the device.
  ("Stigma" [ENT]).

neutron star.  Stellar body that has been gravitationally contracted to the point where its density is that of nuclear material.  A rare cluster of three neutron stars was near the Akaali planet.  ("Civilization" [ENT]).

neutronic wavefront.  Faster-than-light storm saturated with radiolytic isotopes that would kill most humanoids in a matter of minutes.
  ("The Catwalk" [ENT]).  SEE: class-3 neutronic wavefront; class-5 neutronic wavefront.

New Berlin.  Colony established by Earth on it's moon.  ("Terra Nova" [ENT]).  Caroline, a girlfriend of Jonathan Archer's, had left him and moved to New Berlin.  ("First Flight" [ENT]).

Ngari, Tibet.  City on Earth where Captain Archer once visited an ancient monastery.  It was the oldest monastery he had ever visited.  ("The Andorian Incident" [ENT]).

Ni'var Vulcan ship, Surak-class, commanded by Captain Sopek.  The Ni'Var was sent to Coridan to pick up T'Pol and bring her back to Vulcan.  ("Shadows of P'Jem" [ENT]).

niaxilin.  Drug that can be used to help settle down Denobulans during their mating period.  ("Dear Doctor" [ENT]).

Niburon colonies.  Colonies where Danik planned on heading after escaping from Detention Complex 26.  He knew some people at those colonies.  ("Detained" [ENT]).

"Night in Sickbay, A." Enterprise episode # 31.  Written by Rick Berman and Brannon Braga.  Directed by David Straiton.  No date given.  When trying to acquire a needed plasma injector from the Kreetassans by apologizing, Archer manages to offend the Kreetassans again when Porthos desecrates their sacred trees.  After being affected by an unknown pathogen, Archer struggles over his duty to the ship and his relationship with his pet. GUEST CAST:  Vaughn Armstrong as Kreetassan Captain.  SEE:  Alvera trees; Archer, Jonathan; Calrissian chameleon; Denobulan lemur; Hall of Diplomacy; Kreetassan Captain; Kreetassans; Phlox; Pillarian slip; plasma injector; Porthos; Pyrithian bat; Pyrithian moon hawk.

Night of the Killer Androids.  One of the 50,000 movies in the database on the S.S. Enterprise.  Some members of the crew were not very fond of the movie.  ("Cold Front" [ENT]).

nineball.  Billiards game with nine balls that had to be hit in consecutively.  Nineball was a recreational game available onboard Enterprise.  ("Vox Sola" [ENT]).

 

North Star, E.C.SEarth cargo ship that Matthew Ryan was born on.  Ryan's parents did not survive the destruction of the ship, but he did.  He was one of the few to survive.  ("Fortunate Son" [ENT]).

Novakovich, Ethan.  Crewman aboard the S.S. Enterprise whose specialty was in exobotany.  Novakovich was part of the away team on the unknown minshara-class planet.  He was the first infected by the pollen of the flowers of the planet which contained tropolisene.  He began to hallucinate and ran off from the team during the windstorms.  Unable to find him, it was decided he should be transported.  The transporter was unable to isolate the debris from the matter stream seriously injuring Ethan.  He made a full recovery.  ("Strange New World" [ENT]).

Novans.  Name for the humans who lived on Terra Nova.  The Novan adults were killed by radiation poisoning after an asteroid struck the planet.  The children survived after moving into the caves nearby the settlement, adopting a different culture including a varied form of English.  The Novans were distrustful of humans because they were led to believe by their parents that their planet was bombed by humans.  The Novans moved from their caves in the northern hemisphere to caves in the southern hemisphere after their water supply became contaminated.  ("Terra Nova" [ENT]).

nutripacks.  Packets of food with nutritional value used on Earth cargo ships.  These were dubbed as "mystery meals" by the crew of the ships.  ("Fortunate Son" [ENT]).  Travis Mayweather said that he missed nutripacks, especially the strawberry shortcake kind.  ("Horizon" [ENT]).

Nuvian masseuses.  Alien women with 12 fingers on each hand who gave professional massages on Risa.  There were 200 of them registered there.  ("Fallen Hero" [ENT]).

NX.  Ship registry prefix denoting an experimental vessel.  The Enterprise's registry was NX-01.

NX-02Starfleet ship, NX-class.  The NX-02 was scheduled for launch in 2154.
  ("The Expanse" [ENT]).  The ship was not given a name.

NX-Alpha.  Prototype for the warp five engine used in the NX-Test Program.  The shuttle was piloted by A.G. Robinson, but was destroyed when he pushed the engine beyond warp 2.2.  ("First Flight" [ENT]).

NX-Beta.  Prototype for the warp five engine used in the NX-Test Program.  The shuttle was planned to be shelved by Starfleet after recommendation from the Vulcan Advisory Council in relation to the destruction of the NX-AlphaA.G. Robinson and Jonathan Archer stole the ship, and with the help of Charles Tucker, helped to prove that it was a space-worthy engine.  ("First Flight" [ENT]).

NX-class.  Type of Starfleet vessel.  The starship Enterprise was NX-class.  Starfleet had three NX-class ships on the way after the Enterprise.  ("Fortunate Son" [ENT]).

NX-Delta.  Prototype for the warp five engine used in the NX-Test Program.  It was piloted by Duval and was the first ship to break warp three.
  ("First Flight" [ENT]).  Presumably there was also an NX-Gamma.

NX-Test ProgramStarfleet program using prototypes for the warp five engine.  The program was coordinated by Commodore Forrest, and run by four commanders: Jonathan Archer, A.G. Robinson, Duval, and Gardner.  The program was nearly put on hold indefinitely at the urging of the Vulcan Advisory Council after Robinson escaped from the destruction of the NX-Alpha.  The program was resurrected after Archer and Robinson proved the design worthy.  ("First Flight" [ENT]).
 

NyranVulcan starship under the command of Captain TavekMenos was brought back to Vulcan on the Nyran.  ("The Seventh" [ENT]).
