| V'Lar, Ambassador. (Fionnula Flanagan). Vulcan ambassador to Mazar, and distinguished diplomat. V'Lar was responsible for negotiating the territorial accords between Vulcan and Andoria, as well as the Treaty of Ka'Tann, where she first met T'Pol. V'Lar was sent by the Vulcans to help expose the corruption in the Mazarite government. As a ploy to leave the planet without the corrupt agencies finding out, she was charged with crimes so as to make any testimony of hers appear refutable to the corrupt organizations. She was picked up by Enterprise, but after the ship was attacked by a Mazarite vessel, she refused to tell Captain Archer what the true nature of the mission was. Archer then decided to head back to Mazar, potentially jeopardizing her life, but then she told him the truth and he turned the ship back around for the rendezvous. At that point, V'Lar had been at her career for 94 years. ("Fallen Hero" [ENT]). V'Lar's treatise on negotiating tactics was a definitive source in hostage and other negotiation situations. ("Cease Fire" [ENT]). Flanagan had previously played Enina Tandro in "Dax" (DS9) and Dr. Juliana O'Donnell Soong Tainer in "Inheritance" (TNG). V'tosh ka'tur.
